Iconic moment one Kanye vs. Taylor
The first moment I have chosen is Kanye West cutting off Taylor Swift at the MTV Music Awards. Seems kind of ridiculous to choose this as an iconic moment but it has some real substance to it when you look at it closely. Every time I think about this moment my mind run wild on lessons about karma, irony, Americas obsession with pop idols, bullying, stereotypes, music, and more. The Kanye Swift incident at the MVT awards is a moment that gets repeatedly brought up in my life and it always sparks some sort of though process in me.
Iconic moment two The Royal Wedding
The royal wedding is a recent event but it will clearly be an iconic moment for the world. I am of Welsh decent so by blood I have no devotion to the Royal family, but that does not stop me from admiring and drawing inspiration from it. All the fun outfits, decorations, and hats not to mention the historic value of the ceremony all had an impact on me. I found myself puling inspiration for drawing from photos of the wedding that I saw on the Internet and on the covers of magazines in Barns and Noble. I was like a little girl wooing over the dresses and crests and flowers. I know at this point it all sound cheesy, but the Royal Wedding is defiantly a iconic moment for me.
Iconic moment three San Jose Mine
This picture really got to me. I remember when I first saw the news about the mine collapsing I though it was sad but I didn’t really have a connection to it. I new it was a bad thing but the people didn’t exactly seem real to me or something so I just went on living. 70 days later all the men where successfully rescued and this photo emerged. The emotion in this mans face made things seems real. Its photos like this that make me shiver and realize things. This photo is one of the most emotional images I think I will ever see.
